Sensational Sentosa

we made it to the island... is it destiny?

semi-overcast 33 °C

Pretty pumped for today. We’re heading to Sentosa Island!!! http://www.sentosa.com.sg/

Ben and Piotr have been competing to see who can find the coolest history tidbit about the island. Here’s what they have come up with so far….

Ben - Sentosa was a British Military fortress during the 2nd World War and after being invaded by the Japanese was used as a Prisoner of War camp for captured Australian and British military.

Piotr – It’s previous name was “Pulau Blakang Mati” which according to locals means “Island of Death from Behind.”

Not sure either of those tidbits is what lures me to the island. I am looking forward to it because there is a ton of cool stuff to do and we’re treating ourselves to three nights at the Sentosa Resort and Spa. Finally, a real bed and a shower that does not have to be shared!

We’re taking the Sentosa Express across to the island; it’s a newer fancier version of the C-train. Four thousand passengers an hour travel on the Sentosa Express! May be a little squishy wish us luck….
