semi-overcast 34 °C

Hey guys,

This is our first blog on our trip to Singapore! BOOM!

We arrived this morning at Singapore Changi Airport and we can't wait to start exploring! It's going to be a great trip so check back to see what were up to...

It's gonna be a crazy couple of weeks so we'll try to get as many blogs up as we can, but I'm warning you... it could be a bit sporadic! But, that's what makes traveling fun right?

To start off we'll give you a bit of information on the country.

Because of the many different cultures and religions that are present in Singapore the local customs can vary widely. Some important things to remember are;
- always present a business card with both hands and never have your card printed on a black background
- handshakes are not as prominent as bowing or saluting
- when visiting a home in Singapore it is respectful to walk in barefoot, leaving your shoes outside

Currency
The currency that is used in Singapore is the Singapore Dollar. $10 CAD is approximately 13.60 SGD.

Documentation
Canadians are required to have a Valid Passport for travel to Singapore. You will not need to obtain a tourist Visa prior to arriving unless you plan to stay more than 30 days.

You must have proof of a return or onward ticket within your possession in order to be allowed into the country.

Canadians wanting to stay 6 months or longer are required to undergo a complete medical examination beforehand.
